1. Choose a floor that is warm under foot.
LVT flooring such as Amtico, Karndean or Moduleo will sit at room temperature because the tiles or planks absorb heat from the surface. So if your room is warm then your floor will be too. You can also install this type of flooring over under floor heating for that extra special touch. So ditch your fluffy slippers and go barefoot in December!
2. Go natural with a real wood floor.
We all know that wood conducts heat well – think about those Swedish sauna huts with walls, ceilings and floors all made out of wood. Wood flooring will feel warm all year round and is perfect for living areas and bedrooms where you want to relax the most during winter and feel nice and toasty. Engineered wood is also suitable for underfloor heating for that extra boost of heat.
3. Sink your toes into soft, luxurious carpets.
The classics are always the best! You can’t beat a soft and deep carpet to make you feel comfortable and warm. The latest yarns on the market like ‘iSense’ have to be felt to be believed. So soft and velvety! Couple these with good quality bouncy underlay and you will soon be off the sofa and curled up on the floor in front of the TV on those dark winter nights.
